Jiangang has a multidisciplinary background of electronic, biomedical and mechanical engineering. He commenced his research in 2003 in the Xi'an Jiaotong University, and later in 2006, he joined the research group of Prof. Yongping Zheng in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPolyU) as a research assistant. In 2007, Jiangang joined the Consortium for Sound and Vibration Research in HKPolyU as a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Zhongqing Su and Prof. Li Cheng. He also worked in the Laboratoire d'Imagerie Paramétrique in the Paris VI University as an exchange student under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Laugier in 2010. He is now working in the UEIL as a postdoctoral research scientist and is involved in the harmonic motion imaging and pulse wave imaging projects.
Jiangang's research interests include harmonic motion imaging for human soft tissue, wave propagation, biomechanics, quantitative ultrasound (for bone assessment), finite element analysis, non-destructive evaluation, as well as smart materials and structures.
